Nelson Glass Tools, developer and manufacturer of bonded glass removal systems, today announced that its Glass Bot™ Bonded Glass Removal System won a New Products Showcase Award from SEMA, the Specialty Equipment Market Association, at the 2015 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

The Glass Bot™ – Automated Glass Removal Systems, won the award for 2016 Best New Product in the category of Tools and Equipment. Rick Nelson, owner, and man of all hats, was present at the Awards Breakfast, Tuesday, Nov. 3, the first day of the SEMA Show. “I was very surprised. For a glass removal system to win this award was completely out of my wildest imagination. I’m still in shock.”

Rick explains, “one of the judges came by my booth, congratulated me on the award and explained the process on how the Glass Bot was chosen. It made me even more proud to realize the rarified group my product is now recognized as a member. I’m very happy and excited to continue to shout at the mountain and move this industry into the future of auto glass replacement with a solution that is best for technician, shop owner and vehicle owner alike.”

The SEMA New Products Showcase recognizes the most cutting-edge automotive products either on the market or about to hit the market. This year, nearly 2,000 new products were submitted for consideration. Criteria that ranked high on the judges' selection for the New Product Showcase Awards included superiority of innovation, technical achievement, quality and workmanship, consumer appeal and marketability.

The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show is held every year in Las Vegas and is the world’s largest automotive trade shows drawing over 100,000 attendees and thousands of vendors. Over 516 vendors filled the Tools and Equipment section alone.

The Glass Bot™ is a remotely operated tensioning device that tensions a cutting element that quickly, safely and efficiently severs the bonding system, releasing the glass part.
